Challenges: Commissioned by the original owners in 1966, J. Herbert Brownell, renowned CA architect built this single story mid-century modern classic. Minimal updates had been done since then.
Dark and dated, the funk factor of this listing had to be embraced and highlighted.
Solution: Staging had to be with a mid-century modern feel while also making the property feel contemporary. We used a color palette and patterns that showcased the era feel and put the focus on the incredible vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows with views of the hills. Breaking up the dark brick with dramatic art and greenery brought a fresh look to this classic home. Finally, we infused a Don Draper cool factor by adding in a martini bar and polished area for entertaining.
